Well both sites failed miserably but now OhGizmo...my daily read...and once helpful aid in linking to my failed site is giving away a bunch of stuff. Here's quote on all they're doing:

Well this site was in itself just a test. I wanted to see what it was like to try to launch and promote a site as well as see what would happen. For now I'm calling it quits......I'm turning my full attention towards the main blog that I write for and will retire this for now. Without enough returning viewers like I had wished for and the difficulties of hosting under blogsopt I have decided to finish off this site for the time being. If you so wish that I continue with this then go ahead and drop a comment and I will start again but for now I'm gonna sit back until my next project. In a couple of months I plan on launching a site under its very own domain and from there pursue running my own blog. But until then I shall stand down and start getting to work on the new site if so I choose to. ---Mr. Distrac

New iPod's and More

Apple let loose a lot of new stuff today. First was there Motorola itunes compatible phone which they've been rumoring for a while. But then there was the iPod nano which totally shocked and suprised me. For the itunes phone though you have space for 100 songs and there's: headphones that are also a headset, stereo speakers, regular phone capabilities, and of course the ability to buy and download songs on it. It is currently under Cingular in the USA for $249. The iPod nano is a sleek little player with a scroll wheel, color screen, 14 hour battery life and comes in with either 2 gb ($199) or 4 gb ($249). On top of all this itunes 5 is now out as well. These are some cool new products out by Apple that are sure to sell and on another note the iPod mini has disappeared from stores apparently......weird? itunes phone iPod nano Via Gadgetmadness

Well I just realized that Yahoo's search engine has me as the number 1 result for the search word "Distrac". For you it may be nothing but for me it's progress. My newly hatched site now shows up on both MSN and Yahoo search. Unfortunately, Google has left me out.....even though blogspot is a google run site (weird isn't it). Hey i'm almost there so google will eventually discover me. Just give it time. I'm #1 on Yahoo....for now at least I'm a happy fello!

Fun Parachute Game

It's a fun little game where you've got a helicopter and 200 stick guys to drop on the pillows and truck driving by on the ground. However there is awesome gore to it with missiles, spikes, and other choppers that will dismember your stick guys. That and the normal plummet to death make it funner to lose then actually win. Go check it out, it's sure to occupy you for 5 minutes. a new obstacle comes out everytime you successfully land 10 guys on the pillows. Fun Parachute Game

Google Earth now has KMZ file availble that will upload an overlay of New Orleans. The catastrophic flooding and damage can now be viewed by everyone around the world. It's amazing at the size of the area obliterated by water. Above is a quick split shot of a neighberhood half before, half after. My heart goes out to all those affected by the tradgic events that occured as a result of Hurricane Katrina. In case any of you missed Kanye West making a fool out of himself during NBC's Hurricane Katrina Fundraiser, here it is. As one person said "That was like watching a gradeschooler give a report based on things he heard from is ignorant father or something." Well I found it to be pretty pathetic and gave me all the more reason not to like this guy. I felt bad for Mike Myers who had to stand next to him and endure the whole stressful expierience. This is just wrong! In fact it's probably beyond wrong. I mean who would in their right mind come out with something called the Turd Twister? It's just disgusting, I can't even believe I came across this on my web browsing but unfortunately did. Now...I just find it hilariously stupid and gross and thought I'd share it with you so you can wonder what has become of mankind. So I'll actually tell you what it is. You know how chefs have the frosting for cakes in the little tubes and put the flower piece on the end so when they squeeze out the frosting it comes out in the shape of a flower or something else......well same basic concept except with your feces. And that cap....goes were the sun don't shine. There's also some safe-t-floss for retracting a lost Trud Twister. EH! Is There Hope for Gas Prices?

I'm sure most of you out there are growing very tired of the rising gas prices that hount our lives. However there is a possibility that this in the coming years may no longer have to worry us. Shell the gas station company and etc. has been developing a new way to get gas recently. They have figured out how to take oil shale and convert it into gas through below the surface heating until hydrocarbons burn off. When all is said and done you get high grade oil that can eventually make its way into your car. Currently it's still under development but its current productivity rate is for every 1 unit of energy spent they get 10 units of energy back. Shell claim that the process is commercially feasible and with approximately 1 trillion barrels of this in the US could in fact sever our OPEC dependance and give us back our very cheap gas prices. At least we all Hope. Shell's ingenious approach to oil shale is pretty slick

Man Drives Away with 50 Grand on Car Roof

I'm going to file this under "Stupid" even though it's probably beyond that. Basically what happened is a 19 year old man was given 50,000 dollars from his father to "start a new life". So what does he do with this money that was apparently given to him in 100 dollar bills (that's pretty stupid too)? He leaves it on his car roof and proceeds to drive away.....I'm dumbfounded at his level of stupidity it really amazes me. So people later notice massive amounts of cars stopping to catch 100 dollar bills on the road (oh how I wish I was there) and one lucky couple snagged 31,000 dollars of it in cold hard cash. Being "good Samaritans" they hand it over to the police. So the man ends up with only 31,000 because two people were generous. I bet they found more than that....liers..... Golden Lego Bricks?

LEGO recently released, for it's 50th anniversary, golden bricks. To me a long time LEGO fan (when i was younger....not now) I was somewhat interested in them and the fact was that they made Gold LEGO Bricks, which is cool ....Right? Wrong! Of course once you scroll down and read the tiny print it says "Limit one bag of 5 free gold-colored bricks per order of $50 or more". Gold-colored as in they painted them gold. Stunt Planes Video

This is an incredible video of some quick stunt planes doing a show somewhere. It's amazing to see how manuverable these planes really are. If you want to see some Jets doing stunts you have to see The Blue Angels. Fun Airplane FireFighting Game

This is a fun but hard game in which you fly the firefighting plane scoop up some water then dump it on a forest fire to put it out. The directions are in French so you can't read the instructions but here's what I figured out for the controls: left arrow is slow down, right arrow speed up, down arrow to pull up, up arrow to go down, and space bar to dump water. It's tricky though you have to lower your speed so the speed dial is in the blue while gently skidding your plane on the water. Then you have to pull up and dump it on the forest fire. I have only been able to scoop up water and miss the water. It gets frustrating.

Creepy Spider!

This is got to be one of the scariest looking spiders I have ever seen. It's called the camel spider and lives in the desert. Recently with our return to Iraq many stories and pictures regarding soldiers coming into contact with these monsters have surfaced. The spiders grow up to 6 inches long and fortunately aren't venomous but can however take a chunk out of your arm. Bush I am speechless......wow what a smart man, and to think I was just about to go over to Georgia to stock up on some $6 dollar a gallon gas! Once again our faithful leader has prevailed in stating the obvious. Most people even before the hurricane have been carefully monitoring there gas consumption. Life Expectancy

It's an interesting survey that contains about 30 quick question and then will calculate your life expectancy. I came out with a median life expectancy of 85 but with the medical breakthroughs to come I plan on surpassing that by a lot. That's if you even take the program seriously. Boeing just recently revealed what the flight deck of their new 787 Dreamliner and it looks pretty cool. It was designed to provide the best work environment with large displays and 3d rendering of approaching terrain. It looks a lot more appealing then all the other cockpits that are out there. Greedy Record Companies Want More $$$$

Record Companies keep pressuring Apple to Raise the prices of songs in the itunes music store. This would get rid of the constant 99 cents a song that everyone has been accustom to. With the threats of pulling their music off of itunes site Apple may have to increase the price of popular and new songs to 1.50 or more while lowering old song prices. This tension comes at a time where legal music downloads are on the rise and in my opinion this price increase could stop it. There have also been many studies that show if each song was 10 cents, Record Companies would pull in more dough because people would by massive amounts of music. But record companies don't listen and may inadvertently cause many people to go back to illegal p2p downloading. Record Companies are Stupid

A Father in Georgia apparently thought that pulling off a practical joke while escorting his daughter and her guests around for her birthday would be funny and "Cool". So he decided that while he got money from the ATM outside a bank, he'd send one of his daughter's friends into the bank with a note reading "Give me all of your money, this is a stick up".....you know "as a joke". So of course the Bank teller sounded the alarm and within minutes the police and the FBI had the bank surrounded. A Self Driving Car for 2008

A self driving car is finally getting closer. GM has recently announced that they have a car in the development that is capable of driving itself. Building on today's technology and innovations plus a few new tricks the car will be able to recognize lanes and cars ahead of it as well as road signs through a series of cameras, lidar, and image recognition software. It won't be capable of driving everywhere but should be reliable enough on a highway. They estimate it'll cost around $1800 to outfit new vehicles. The next question is whether or not it will be allowed. Many European countries outlaw self driving cars and liability is also another question. What if you crash? It is launching off of the Razr platform with its stylish design and looks. CVS Camcorder on a Rocket

If you haven't heard yet, CVS came out with a cheap $30 disposable camcorder a while back. It's a one time use camera but can be hacked to work otherwise. However thats not the fun part yet. High Res in Google Earth

I absolutely love Google Earth. It is by far one of the coolest programs ever developed. And now they have updated Google Headquarters imagery to an astonishing 1 in. per pixel resolution. Just how close you can zoom in is amazing. You are able to see chairs street cones and actually read words written in the street. It's incredible, i reccomend you go check it out its pretty cool.
